I am on a 21 day journey, a cleansing journey! I decided to do this 21 day cleanse for several reasons, but one of which was not to lose weight. People keep saying to me, “you don’t need to lose weight,” And when doing a cleanse, yes, you can definitely lose weight, but that was NOT my reason for doing this. I have been hearing amazing things about this cleanse for awhile now and have just really wanted to try it out. And the creator of my most favorite product on the planet, Shakeology, created this cleanse, so I knew it had to be amazing! And cleansing out your body in a healthy nutritious way cannot be a bad thing. I have also had many people ask me about this cleanse and yet, another reason, I just had to try for myself to see how does this work.
Week 1: Reclaim
The hardest week because of the caffeine withdrawals and just removing the foods you’re so used to having daily. We slowly removed animal products in this phase. Day 1, for me, was by far the hardest. The caffeine headache was such a killer, I was extremely nauseous. My hubby didn’t have the withdrawal until day 3.
The #1 thing I noticed about this cleanse is the huge amounts of food we are allowed. Portions are huge, so much so that they’re hard to finish sometimes. So that,I love!! Another thing, this cleanse really focuses on appreciating the food we are blessed to have. It teaches us to slow down and chew each bite for 20-30 chews; how many of you have ever counted your chews? I did and I was only doing about 2-3!!! So this is really forcing me to slow down. As you can see from these pictures, a lot of food and really good food too; eggs, toast, oatmeal, salads, salmon, quinoa, veggies, etc…. Basically what I normally eat.
Week 2: Release
This is our Detox week and all meats and dairy is eliminated at this point. So only fruits, veggies and whole grains. But still huge portions of food.
So, I’m a little over halfway done, but I can tell you that I feel great and am extremely pleased with this cleanse. I was a bit worried because I have done our 3 day cleanse and it was hardly any food, so that scared me a bit. But this is totally different. Huge portions, you’re never really hungry and no cravings either. I have plenty of energy.
I am not allowed to workout on this cleanse and I thought that was going to kill me because of my passion for working out, but I have opted for a yoga workout instead. And we just happened to have come out with a 3 week yoga program and I’m using that. I love it! Perfect timing too. I think this is so great for my body since all I do is heavy hitting workouts and just this stretching and lengthening of my muscles is great for me.
I would highly recommend this cleanse to anyone. The food has been unbelievable! I even made sushi! Who would’ve thunk it????
The recipes on this cleanse have been so great that we plan to use them from now on. I can’t get over how great the food is AND it is teaching me to cook; WHAT THE WHAT!?!?! Yes, Coach GG, who does NOT cook, is now cooking these incredible meals, even sushi! I’ve made dishes like Roasted Root Medley, Zucchini Soup, Roasted Red Pepper Soup, Quinoa Lentil Pilaf, etc…. Just can’t get over how great everything is. I’ve tried and bought foods I had never heard of before and learning so much about my food.
We truly are what we eat. It’s so important to put healthy ingredients into our bodies everyday. If you’re putting healthy items into your body, you will have the energy you need throughout the day; you won’t get that sluggishness, bloating, tiredness, irritability, etc… You’ll have all natural energy, you’ll be happier, more productive, react better to situations, and so much more. Really think twice before you throw those Doritos down your throat. These bodies are given to us by God, we need to treat them as such. Put good things in and good things will come out.
Can’t wait to share my results when I’m all done!!! If you have any questions about it, don’t hesitate to ask me. Email me
